KERRY WIGG LLB (HONS) LLM TEP
Kerry is a Partner and Solicitor with over 20 years legal experience, admitted as a Solicitor in October 2004 and a Full accredited member of the Society of Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Kerry heads up the Private Client Team specialising in Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney and advising and assisting with the Administration of Estates.
Having obtained an Honours Degree in Law (LLB) , Kerry successfully completed a Master of Law Degree (LLM) in International Human Rights Law before completing the Solicitors Final Examination at Guildford College of Law.
Kerry began her career working as an in-house legal adviser for a major insurance company and then at a national firm specialising in defendant personal injury claims. She subsequently worked as Head of Litigation for 11 years with a high street practice undertaking claimant personal injury and general civil litigation, before embarking on the challenge of a Partner in a successful start-up practice in rural Suffolk, heading up one of its four branch offices for 5 years with a mixed caseload of Litigation & Private client work.
Her extensive background and wealth of experience in litigation and dispute resolution proves an invaluable advantage for our clients when dealing with complex or contentious issues arising in her private client work.
Kerry has a reputation for her sensitive, patient and considerate approach when assisting our elderly, vulnerable and bereaved clients and places delivering peace of mind at the heart of everything we do!
LORETTA ASTON LLB (Hons)
Loretta is a Partner and Solicitor with a wealth of experience heading up our Property Team. Loretta specialises in residential and agricultural property matters dealing with a broad spectrum of clients ranging from first time buyers to developers looking to invest in the housing market.
Loretta focuses on high net worth clients, complex property transactions and working closely with the Private Client department where property ownership and transfers are required as part of the Administration of Estates.
Having obtained her Honours degree in Law (LLB ), Loretta followed her keen interest in property- initially embarking on a career as an Estate Agent, which provided her with invaluable insight and experience of the property market- before completing her professional qualifications as a Solicitor to specialise in Property law.
Loretta subsequently built on her experience and technical legal know-how forging her 20 year legal career as a Partner & Head of Conveyancing for several regional firms -valued for her keen eye for detail, enviable technical legal skill, astute problem solving skills and practical advice.
Loretta is proud of the firm's Conveyancing Quality Standard (CQS) accreditation which she is instrumental in maintaining to deliver reassurance to our clients of the high-quality service we offer.
A keen equestrian, Loretta lives on a farm with her family using her understanding and experience of rural and agricultural issues to assist client farming families and rural businesses in dealing with the opportunities and challenges they face.
With a reputation for her warm and down to earth approach, Loretta places her commitment to providing our clients with the confidence they are moving in the right direction at the heart of everything we do!
ELLIE BATLEY LLB (HONS)
Ellie is an Associate Solicitor specialising in a variety of private client work including Estate Administration, Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Having obtained an Honours degree in law (LLB), Ellie qualified as a solicitor in February 2020.
Ellie works closely with Partner and Head of Department Kerry Wigg to deliver personalised advice and assistance to our clients and thoughtfully collaborates with other professionals to provide a holistic service to our clients to deliver complete peace of mind.
Ellie is committed to learning new skills aspiring to work toward STEP accreditation and expanding her impressive legal knowledge as her legal career continues to flourish.
Ellie is valued for being extremely knowledgeable, efficient and approachable to clients and has a reputation for her considered, kind and patient delivery of our services to our elderly and bereaved clients.
EMMA LINES LLB (HONS)
Emma is an Associate Solicitor in our Property department.
Emma obtained an LLB Joint Honours Law and Psychology Degree and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Emma qualified as a solicitor in 2014 and joined Lloyds Cooper in 2017 specialising in residential conveyancing.
Emma is valued for her pragmatic approach, diligence and commitment to help her clients.
Emma was born and bred in Leominster and is strongly rooted in the local community.
In her spare time, Emma volunteers and forms part of the fundraising committee of Leominster Town Football Club in her capacity as a parent of a player (part of the under 12s team) and the wife of a coach to the under 11s team.
IZABELLA MARKALL LLB (Hons)
Izabella is a Trainee Solicitor who joined Lloyds Cooper in 2022.
She obtained a first-class honours degree in Law and is now completing her Master’s qualification at the University of Law.
Izabella has worked in property law for six years and loves engaging with clients and working as part of a team to deliver excellent service.
Izzy is valued for her enthusiasm for learning and applying her acquired skill & knowledge for the benefit of our clients with an assured confidence and maturity beyond her years.
Izabella is friendly and approachable and enjoys building and maintaining longstanding client relationships.
APRIL TROTMAN LLB (HONS)
April obtained a First class honours degree in Law and is currently working towards her Legal Executive Qualification with CILEX.
April joined Lloyds Cooper in 2020 after graduating from Aberystwyth University, and works as a reliable and knowledgeable Legal Assistant in our Property Department.
April is valued for her knowledge of Property Auctions and in drafting Auction Packs and her enthusiasm for keeping up to date with advancements in legal technology seeking innovative ways to use this to benefit our client's property transactions.
April was born in Leominster so she is rooted in the community and her local knowledge is invaluable to our clients.
SHARON EDWARDS
Sharon has specialised in conveyancing support since she was 17 years old and joined Lloyds Cooper in 1996 .
Sharon works as a legal assistant in our Property Team and is valued for the wealth of experience she provides helping our clients and supporting our solicitors in all areas of the conveyancing process.
Sharon is valued for her calm and methodical approach to conveyancing and her reliable delivery of support to our clients.
KAROLINE GRIFFITHS
Karoline has worked within legal practice for more than 30 years.
Karoline joined Lloyds Cooper in 2017 as a Completions Clerk and has a vast amount of experience and knowledge in dealing with the Land Registry.
Karoline is valued for her experience, attention to detail and know- how, particularly ensuring complex applications complete successfully.
JILL STAPLES
Jill has been employed at Lloyds Cooper for 45 years.
Jill works as a legal assistant in the Private client department and brings to the role a wealth of knowledge, experience and know-how.
Often the first point of contact in the private client department, Jill is valued for her calm and reassuring manner in dealing with our bereaved clients - offering support and practical advice at a difficult time.
With her naturally kind and compassionate manner, Jill delivers to our elderly and vulnerable clients and their loved ones friendly support and direction, listening to their individual needs and identifying how we can best assist.
Over the years, Jill has built various client relationships and enjoys meeting and helping old and new clients alike through challenging times or to find peace of mind.
CLARE DOWNES
Clare has been employed at Lloyds Cooper for 30 years.
Clare worked for some years in the conveyancing department, but in recent years has specialised as a legal assistant in the Private Client department competently offering our clients a wealth of knowledge and experience as a legal support in various fields of law, with a keen eye for detail.
As well as providing excellent secretarial support to the solicitors in the private client team, Clare is valued for her quietly confident diligence and strong organisation and administrative skills which contributes to the efficiency of the Private Client Team.

Kay joined our firm in September 1982 as a full-time Secretary with various short-hand, typing and office qualifications. Over the years, Kay worked as a secretary in a variety of departments gaining a wide experience in different legal disciplines.
Kay enjoys speaking with and meeting our clients, many of whom have a long standing relationship with the firm.
As our Receptionist, Kay is valued for making our clients feel welcome, and putting our visitors at ease with her friendly, efficient and helpful manner.
